Applications are now being accepted from youth in Grades 9-12 from the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield who would like to make a difference in their community by serving on the newly formed Youth Council.
The Youth Council will:
– Provide a mechanism for youth to communicate with Town Council and Administration
– Operate in an advisory capacity to Town Council, providing recommendations about the needs of youth in the community
– Act in a decision-making capacity related to youth goals
– Work towards a minimum of two (2) goals – Community Vitality and Environmental Sustainability
Youth Council Membership:
– Consist of eight (8) representatives in Grades 9-12 from the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield. There will be two (2) representatives appointed by Town Council from each Grade
– Consist of a member of Town Council as a non-voting advisor to the Youth Council, as well as member(s) of Town Administration for mentoring and guidance
