National Volunteer Week is April 14-20, 2024

The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield extends appreciation to all of the volunteers in our community for their dedication, selflessness, compassion and service throughout the year. Many of the programs, organizations, committees and events that we are fortunate enough to have in our community, are due to the hard work of volunteers.

On April 16, 2024, the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield hosted a Volunteer Celebration at the Community Centrum, in recognition of community volunteers. Members of Town Council presented recipients with a certificate and a token of appreciation.

Recipients were from various Grand Bay-Westfield Agencies, Boards, Commissions, Committees, Organizations and Community Groups including sports, arts, recreation, culture, schools and places of worship.

This Celebration also recognized three (3) individuals with a Mayor’s Milestone Volunteer Award. This award was established by Mayor Merrifield in 2023 to acknowledge volunteers who have committed over twenty years of service to the community.

2024 Mayor’s Milestone Volunteer Award recipients are:

James Burke;
Eleanor Dryden; and
Ralph Stevens.

“The Town recognizes the contributions volunteers make towards our vision of A welcoming place for all to live, grow and thrive. Volunteers are an important part of the fabric of this community.” –  Mayor Brittany Merrifield.

On behalf of Town Council, Staff, and the entire community – Thank you, to our volunteers. We applaud you for all that you do.
