The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield extends appreciation to all of the volunteers in our community for their dedication, selflessness, compassion, and service throughout the year. Many of the programs, organizations, committees and events that we are fortunate enough to have in our community, are due to the hard work of volunteers.
On April 29, 2026, the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield hosted a Volunteer Celebration at Cask and Kettle Grand Bay-Westfield, in recognition of community volunteers.
Recipients were from various Grand Bay-Westfield Agencies, Boards, Commissions, Committees, Organizations and Community Groups – including sports, arts, recreation, culture, schools and places of worship.
This Celebration also recognized three (3) individuals with a Mayor’s Milestone Volunteer Award. This award was established by Mayor Merrifield in 2023 to acknowledge volunteers who have committed over twenty (20) years of service to the community.
2026 Mayor’s Milestone Volunteer Award recipients are:
Louis Gigou;
Lori Maxan; and
Eleanor McClune.
“The Town recognizes the contributions volunteers make towards our vision of A welcoming place for all to live, grow, and thrive. Volunteers are an important part of the fabric of this community.” – Mayor Brittany Merrifield.
