The naming process is to determine a name for the governing body of Entity 51 only, which will include the communities of Grand Bay-Westfield, Nerepis and the properties along Campbell Road. Entity 51 is a temporary name assigned by the Province.
Nerepis and Grand Bay-Westfield will continue to be the names of those respective communities.

In November 2021, the Province of New Brunswick released a White Paper on Local Governance Reform. As a result of the modernization of New Brunswick’s local governance system, the neighbouring communities of Grand Bay-Westfield and a portion (55%) of the Local Service District (LSD) of Westfield West will be amalgamated. Until a community name is determined, these two communities are known as Entity 51.
Please Note: This is the submission of name ideas only. This is not the voting stage of the naming process. The voting stage of the naming process will be communicated at a later date.

The Naming Committee of Entity 51 is requesting name ideas from residents, businesses and organizations of Grand Bay-Westfield and the portion of the LSD of Westfield West. Naming a community is a very important decision; it is a part of ensuring Entity 51 is a welcoming community to live, grow and thrive. Residents, businesses and organizations in both communities have the opportunity to participate in this democratic decision-making process.

Visit www.entity51.ca to submit your name ideas by selecting the “Submit Your Entity 51 Name Ideas” icon to complete the online form.
Name submissions may also be completed at the Town Office:

WHO CAN SUBMIT NAME IDEAS
Residents of all ages, organizations and businesses of Grand Bay-Westfield and the portion of the LSD of Westfield West. Local schools have been notified and encouraged to participate in the naming submission process.
CONTEST
Name submissions which are selected to be on the final ballot will be entered into a random draw for a chance to win a gift card to a local business. For full contest rules, visit here. It has been predetermined by Council that the name “Grand Bay-Westfield” will automatically be included on the final voting ballot.
