A combination of snow, ice pellets, freezing rain, and rain is expected.

Time span: this afternoon until Thursday afternoon.

Potential freezing rain duration: 2 to 4 hours.

Potential freezing rain amounts: up to 5 mm.

Remarks: A low pressure system is expected to bring a variety of wintry precipitation that will likely affect the region beginning this afternoon. There remains some uncertainty in the exact track of this system but there is a possibility of a prolonged period of freezing rain this evening and into tonight. Freezing rain is expected to switch to rain by Thursday morning. More significant duration and accumulation of freezing rain is expected in areas to the north of this statement, where freezing rain warnings have been issued.

Time span: Wednesday afternoon (March 11) until Thursday afternoon (March 12).

Potential freezing rain duration: 10 to 18 hours.
Potential freezing rain amounts: 5 to 15 mm, possibly higher.

Remarks: A low pressure system is expected to bring a variety of wintry precipitation that will likely affect the region on Wednesday into Thursday. There remains some uncertainty in the exact track of this system but there is a high likelihood of a prolonged period of freezing rain with significant ice accumulations. A transition to rain is expected by midday Thursday.
