The Grand Bay-Westfield Veterans Peace Park Revitalization Project remains underway
On Saturday, July 29, 2023, Royal Canadian Legion Bayview Branch 22 unveiled three (3) park benches which will be placed at the Veterans Peace Park in honour of three (3) Veterans:
Corporal Kieth Sean Jacquard;
Sergeant Darren Andrew Pollock; and
Allan Robertson Thompson.
Family members of the Veterans were in attendance to place memorial plaques on the benches.
Also in attendance were MP John Williamson, MLA Bill Oliver, Members of Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Council, representatives of various businesses and organizations who have contributed to the Veterans Peace Park.
The Legion also unveiled signage in recognition of those who have contributed to the Veterans Peace Park. This signage will be placed at the Veterans Peace Park, Royal Canadian Legion Bayview Branch 22, and at the Town Office.

Revitalization of the Grand Bay-Westfield Veterans Peace Park remains underway
Over the last week, the peace symbol for the Peace Plaza was completed, and the Peace Walk was engraved with the words Honour, Respect and Peace in English and French.
Next Steps
Next steps of the Revitalization Project include installation of the benches in honour of Veterans, a retaining wall, and monuments.
The Legion wishes to remind everyone that the Veterans Peace Park remains an active construction site.
