The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield remains committed to providing safe and efficient snow and ice control operations throughout the winter season.
To avoid potential damage and assist the Town’s Public Works Department with snow and ice control operations, residents are asked to move objects such as planters, sports equipment, newspaper boxes and other structures from Town right-of- ways.
This will enable plows and salt vehicles to reach the curb and avoid potential damage to objects within the right-of-ways.
Residents are remined of Section 4.(2) of the Grand Bay-Westfield By-law No. PW-002 – Respecting Snow and Ice Control:
“The Town shall not repair any damage to the property of any person where such property was placed in the municipal right-of-way and such damage occurred due to the activities of the Town or its officers, employees or agents in the course of implementing the Snow and Ice Control Plan.”
The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield extends appreciation to residents for their cooperation.
For any comments, questions, or concerns related to objects within municipal right-of-ways, contact the Town Office at (506) 738-6400.
