Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield intends to consider giving third reading (by title only) to amend Town By-law GG-008: Respecting Animal Control at its Council meeting on June 9, 2025.
The subject matter being considered under By-law No. GG-008 is as follows:
– All dogs require licenses (tags). This includes show dogs and obedience dogs.
– The Animal Control Officer will be referencing the dog bite protocol when responding to public inquiries / calls for service.
– Going forward, for residents who install electric fencing for their dogs: Instead of the fencing being two (2) meters from the property line, it will now be three (3) meters.
