1. CALL TO ORDER

The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield Planning Advisory Committee met for a regular meeting on Monday, October 6, 2014 at 8:00 p.m. with Chair, Ralph Stevens presiding.

2. RECORD OF ATTENDANCE

All Members were present with the exception of Alex Calvin.

3. PLANNING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES OF SEPTEBER 15, 2014

7. TOWN’S MANAGER’S MEMO DATED SEPTEMBER 12, 2014

RE: BUDGET REQUEST FOR 2015

8. DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S MEMO DATED OCTOBER 2, 2014

RE: PAC 2015 BUDGET REQUEST

“…moved by Cllr. Bev Day that the Planning Advisory Committee submit the following budget figure of $9,000.00 for expenses of the Committee for the year 2015….”

Seconded by Ron Daigle. Carried.

9. APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE

RE: GILLES & LISA ROBICHAUD–91 HIGHLAND ROAD

(A) DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED OCTOBER 2, 2014

Applicants, Gilles and Lisa Robichaud were present and Mr. Robichaud addressed the Committee as follows:

He is requesting a Variance to build a garage 26 ft. x 32 ft. (832 sq ft.);

his occupation is a sandblaster and painter;

he needs the space for storage, i.e. vehicles, ATV, lawn mower and also his work equipment;

his lot is a “double” (large) lot (3/4 acres) and the proposed garage will not be near the property line;

he has obtained written consent from his neighbours.

The Committee asked Mr. Robichaud if he would be operating a business out of his home? He replied that he has a full time job, however, he has his own equipment and does residential work but will not be working from home.

There was no one else present speaking in favor of or against this Application.

“…moved by Jim Burke that the Planning Advisory Committee DENY the Variance REQUEST to the Town’s Zoning By-law, Town of Grand Bay-Westfield By-law No. 112, for the increase in the overall size of an accessory structure to be located at 91 Highland Road, PID No. 30004279. .…”

Seconded by Chyanne Kirby. Carried.

10. ADJOURNMENT
