9. APPLICATION FOR VARIANCE
RE: SCOTT MOSSMAN – 200 INGLEWOOD DRIVE
(A) DEVELOPMENT OFFICER’S REPORT DATED JUNE 15, 2018
Applicant, Scott Mossman, was present and addressed the Committee regarding his Application for Variance for the construction of an oversized accessory building as follows:
• He wishes to construct a 1008 sq. ft. accessory building on his property;
• the structure will be used to store his tractor, corvette and truck, which do not fit in his existing garage;
• an Engineering Firm will do up the floor plan (Engineered slab) and local contractors will be hired to do the construction;
• he suggests that his neighbours would have no objection to his proposal, as it will not affect other properties.

There was no one present speaking in favor of or against this Application.
The Planning Advisory Committee advised the Applicant that they only deal with minor Variance requests, and that the main issue with his Application is the size of the structure proposed and inquired if there was any way he could attach the building to an existing structure.
Mr. Mossman replied that he cannot attach the building and that the structure is now being placed in a different location as originally planned, due to the recent flooding that occurred along the river.
“…moved by Alex Calvin that the Planning Advisory Committee Deny the request for a 56 m² Variance to increase the permitted area for Accessory Structures from 75 m² to 131 m² at 200 Inglewood Drive, PID No. 30204234….”
Seconded by Brittany Merrifield. Carried.
The Committee advised Mr. Mossman his options are to appeal his case to the Provincial Planning Appeal Board or meet with the Development Officer to come up with a more suitable Application. In closing, he expressed his disappointment in the Committee’s decision to deny his Application, as his property consists of 4 acres.

10. ADJOURNMENT
“…moved by Brittany Merrifield and seconded by Theresa Gordon to adjourn….” at 8:13 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,

Ron Daigle,
Acting PAC Chair
Laylia Nice,
