The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield remains committed to its strategic priority of community vitality.
The Town’s Age-Friendly Committee, in partnership with local schools, is seeking seniors (50+) in Grand Bay-Westfield as volunteers for a school-based intergenerational program. The goal of this program is to build relationships across generations with students from local schools, and seniors in the community.
Various activities in this program will include:
Students exchanging handwritten letters with local seniors as pen pals;
Students playing games such as cards or chess with local seniors; and
Students interviewing local seniors.

Volunteers will be required to:
Provide criminal record and vulnerable sector checks;
Complete the Partners Assisting Local Schools (PALS) volunteering form with Anglophone School District – South; and
Attend meetings and events, as scheduled during school hours.
Depending on volunteer submissions, this program will commence prior to the end of the current school year, or the beginning of the 2023-2024 school year.
