CONTEST DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this Contest is to provide the residents, organizations and or businesses of Entity 51 (Grand Bay-Westfield and the portion of the LSD of Westfield West) the opportunity to submit name ideas for consideration by the Naming Committee of Entity 51. Submitted names will be reviewed by the Naming Committee of Entity 51. Between two and four names will be chosen to be added to the final voting ballot. It has been predetermined by Council that the name “Grand Bay-Westfield” will automatically be one of the final voting ballot options.
CONTEST PERIOD
The Naming of Entity 51 Contest (the “Contest”) is administered by the Naming Committee of Entity 51 (the “Administrator”) and will take place from Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. until Monday, March 28 at 11:59 p.m. Atlantic time) (the “Contest Period”).
HOW TO ENTER
Residents, organizations and or businesses of Entity 51 are able to participate in the Contest by completing the Naming of Entity 51 Contest Submission Form.
Residents, organizations and or businesses may submit up to one (1) name per submission form, with a maximum of three (3) forms per resident, organization and or business.
To be eligible, entries must be received by the Contest closing date.
Submitted names which are selected to be on the final voting ballot become the property of the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield.
The Administrator is not responsible for and not limited to late, lost, incomplete, illegible, misdirected, stolen, delayed, damaged or destroyed entries, or for any unavailable network connections, failed, incomplete, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions, on-line failures, hardware, software or other technical functions or disturbances or any other communications failures or circumstances affecting, disrupting or corrupting the Contest in any manner.
PRIZES
There are a total of three (3) prizes ($75.00 gift certificates for a local business) eligible to be won.
All name submissions that are selected to be on the final voting ballot will be entered into a random draw for one of the three (3) prizes.
Whereas it has been predetermined that the name “Grand Bay-Westfield” will automatically be included on the final voting ballot, submissions with that name will be excluded from the draw. Draw will take place once the Naming Committee affirms the final voting ballot. If any of the selected winners cannot be contacted or do not comply with these Official Contest Rules, the prize will be forfeited, and an alternative eligible entry will be drawn.
The Administrator is not responsible for the failure of any reason whatsoever of a selected potential winners to receive notification or for the Administrator to receive a selected potential winner’s response. Each entrant may only claim one prize.
The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.
No cash alternative or substitution of the prize is provided, except that the Administrator, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the prize is unavailable for any reason. The prize is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind and must be accepted as awarded. The administrator disclaims all warranties including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
ELIGIBILITY
The Contest is open to residents of all ages, organizations and or businesses from Grand Bay-Westfield and the portion of the LSD of Westfield West, New Brunswick, Canada. If the Contest winners are under 18 years of age, the prize is to be claimed by a guardian.
Members of the Naming Committee of Entity 51 are not eligible to provide name submissions.
Town of Grand Bay-Westfield staff and elected officials are welcome and encouraged to participate in the name submission, however, they will not be eligible for the Contest prize draw.
CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
By participating in this Contest, you agree:
- to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and the decisions of the Administrator, whose decisions are final;
- to the use of your name, likeness, voice, image, recording, video footage and statements in connection with this Contest and the promotion and exploitation thereof;
- that if selected as the winner(s), you give the Administrator and its agents the right to publish or broadcast your name, likeness, voice, image, recording, video footage or statements for editorial, promotional, advertising and publicity purposes, without compensation other than the value of the prize offered;
- to release and indemnify and hold harmless the Administrator and all their respective officers, directors, employees, owners, agents, contractors, representatives, successors and assigns from any liability in connection with or arising out of this Contest, the awarding of the prize, the use of any personal information or the use of merchandise purchased in relation to winning a prize.
TERMINATION
The Administrator also reserves the right, without prior notice, and at any time, to terminate the Contest, in whole or in part or modify, suspend or extend the Contest in any way.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest or to win a prize.
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Official Contest Rules does not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.
PRIVACY NOTICE
Personal information in connection with the Contest is collected solely for the administration of the Contest and related purposes.
