The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield is undertaking generational changes with a new Mayor, Council, and CAO. As a result, there is a unique career opportunity for a recreation professional to become the Town’s first Recreation Program Coordinator.

Reporting directly to the Recreation Director, the Recreation Program Coordinator (RPC) is a member of the management team and is responsible for the supervision, planning, organizing, direction and control of recreation programming, and for the efficient and effective administration of programming. The RPC provides advice on recreation programming to the Recreation Director and the CAO.
The RPC provides strategic leadership to and engages with multiple community partners, stakeholders and the general public. The RPC supports the Community Vitality Committee. The RPC has a close functional relationship with the Recreation Director, assisting with the implementation of Council’s strategic direction.
The ideal candidate is a well-respected recreation professional, with a successful track record working with community groups to deliver programming. As a Recreation Professional, the RPC requires exceptional understanding of recreation programming standards and outstanding people skills. The RPC has strong team building skills and is recognized as a flexible, visionary leader, with excellent communication skills, sound political acumen, and models a culture of continuous improvement. Being a small municipality, the RPC possesses functional knowledge of all recreation programming areas.
