The Town is seeking to recruit two (2) motivated individuals to work within the Public Works Department team as casual Winter Maintenance Technicians.
The successful candidates will make a difference by providing seasonal maintenance, including snow and ice control, throughout the community.
Job Description and Duties
- Perform snow and ice control within the community.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Tend to operate a variety of machines and equipment.
- Perform minor preventative maintenance on vehicles and heavy equipment.
- May participate in traffic control set-up and removal.
- Other tasks as required.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Class 3 Driver’s Licence.
- Plow truck operating experience (1 – 3 years).
- Previous municipal maintenance and rehabilitation experience considered an asset (1 – 3 years).
- Ability to operate and maintain a variety of required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Available to be on-call from November until May.
- Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.
- Professional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.
Wage commensurate with relevant experience.
Selected candidates will be required to submit a criminal record check and driver abstract prior to being engaged.
