Job Summary: The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our Finance Department. The Finance Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this position ensures the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and serves as a key member of the Finance team. Exceptional customer service is essential in this role to effectively manage public inquiries and support the Town’s financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for public inquiries.
  • Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) Secretary, providing administrative support to the Development Officer.
  • Process payments from residents.
  • Issue Purchase Orders.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable process.
  • Assist in processing Payroll.
  • Assist with Document Control.
  • Ad hoc administrative tasks for various Departments.

Qualifications:

  • Community College Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting is preferred.
  • Experience working in a professional environment within local government or a similar public entity is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of accounting, accounts payable, and payroll processes is considered an asset.
  • Strong functional knowledge of financial processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and contribute to a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
