The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield remains committed to its strategic priority of Community Vitality.

The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield has installed a new pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of River Valley Drive and Inglewood Drive.

“The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield recognizes the importance of outdoor activities to quality of life. With the trails being used more frequently during the pandemic, this new crosswalk allows pedestrians to safely cross River Valley Drive at the northern end of the walking trail.” – Mayor Brittany Merrifield.

The existence of a crosswalk does not automatically make it safe to cross a roadway. While motorists are required to yield the right of way to pedestrians at a pedestrian crossing, it is the responsibility of the pedestrian to use extreme caution when crossing a roadway, checking all directions for on-coming traffic and only crossing the road when they can safely do so.  Be sure that approaching traffic sees you and is going to stop before stepping into the roadway.
