Town adds Indigenous names to street signs

Published: September 13, 2021

The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield has installed new information signs to the street signs for Nerepis Road and Woolastook Drive. The new signs have the traditional Indigenous spelling of the street signs. The new signs are in addition to the English version of the street names.

The addition of these signs is just one of many actions the Town is making to further the cause of reconciliation with our Indigenous friends and neighbours. Mayor and Council maintain their steadfast commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and are excited to see the new signs in place.

Residents residing on Nerepis Road and Woolastook Drive are advised there is no address change required.
