Review of traffic patterns at Grand Bay-Westfield railway crossings

Published: May 16, 2023 @ 9:00 a.m.

The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield remains committed to its strategic priority of Infrastructure and Climate Adaptation.

Englobe Corp. will be conducting a review of railway crossing traffic patterns, due to increased rail activity in the community.

The review will focus on the six (6) primary railway crossings within Town limits:

Station Street;
Pamdenec Road;
Epworth Park Road;
Inglewood Drive;
Ferry Road; and
Brittain Road.

An electronic traffic monitoring device will be temporarily installed near these railway crossings, which will be used to collect traffic pattern data.

The review will determine whether upgrades to the railway crossing systems and/or other updates will be required to improve safety for residents, motorists and pedestrians.

The review will be conducted between May 17-25, 2023.
