Summer Student Job Posting

The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield is looking for 2 summer students in the Works Department. This is a 40-hour per week full-time position reporting directly to the Public Works Superintendent. This is repetitive manual work, involving the lawn and trail maintenance with mowers and weed whackers.  Possible flagger training as a flagger and general labour work as assigned.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • be in possession of a current class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle every day; Vehicle usage will be paid at 40 cents a kilometer.
  • ability to promote and maintain good public relations and on-the-job safety practices.
  • must have a working knowledge of the type, uses, care and control of common hand tools and small power tools.

Salary:  $12.25 per hour
