By-Law No. 104c

The Council of the Municipality of Grand Bay-Westfield under authority vested in it by Section 36 of the Municipalities Act, R.S.N.B. 1973, c.M-22 and amendments thereto hereby enacts an Amendment to By-Law No. 104, Town of Grand Bay-Westfield By-Law Respecting the Remuneration of the Mayor and Council.

By-Law No. 104 is amended as follows:

Sections 3, 4, and 5 are deleted and replaced with new sections 3, 4, and 5 as follows:

3. Effective May 28, 2012 the Mayor of the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield shall be paid remuneration in the amount of $19,052 per year payable in equal monthly payments;

4. Effective May 28, 2012 the Deputy Mayor of the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield shall be paid remuneration in the amount of $10,474 per year payable in equal monthly payments;

5. Effective May 28, 2012 each Councillor of the Town of Grand Bay-Westfield shall be paid remuneration in the amount of $9,086 per year payable in equal monthly payments;

By-law No.104 is further amended as follows:

Section 7.3 and section 7.4 are deleted and replaced with new sections 7.3 and 7.4 as follows:

7.3 The Mayor of the Municipality shall be paid a per diem rate of $115.00 per day for each day the Mayor attends meetings, seminars, conferences, training sessions and other like events as a representative of the Municipality outside the boundaries of the Municipality. The Deputy Mayor of the Municipality shall be paid a per diem rate of $100.00 per day for each day the Deputy Mayor attends meetings, seminars, conferences, training sessions, and other like events as a representative of the Municipality outside the boundaries of the Municipality, except when acting for the Mayor she/he shall be paid $115.00 per day.

7.4 Each Councillor of the Municipality shall be paid a per diem rate of $100.00 per day for each day the Councillor attends meetings, seminars, conferences, training sessions, and other like events as a representative of the Municipality outside the boundaries of the Municipality.

By-law No. 104 is further amended by adding a new section 7.5 as follows:

7.5 On the first day of June 2012 and on the first day of June in each and every year thereafter the remuneration set out in Sections 3, 4, and 5 shall be adjusted by an amount equal to the average increase in the Consumer Price Index (CP) for New Brunswick recorded for the immediately preceding fiscal year ending April 30th.

 

This by-law comes into force on May 28, 2012
