The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield remains committed to its strategic priority of infrastructure sustainability.

The annual sanitary sewer main video inspections will be taking place beginning Monday, October 31, 2022. Following the video inspections, will be the annual sewer main flushing program.

About the sewer main video inspections

Video equipment is used to identify deficiencies in the sewer system, as well as provide a means to evaluate the effectiveness of various maintenance procedures. It is critical in the detection and location of required repairs.

About the sewer main flushing program

High-pressure flushing equipment is used to clean the sewer line with high-pressure water. The debris is then vacuumed from the manhole with a high-powered vacuum hose. This annual work is part of a 5-year program to perform proactive maintenance program for the prevention of sewer back-ups across the entire municipal sewer system.
